Syeda Kisa Zehra Breaks Guinness World Record for Most Historical Dates Recalled in Five Minutes


World Memory Champion 2020, Syeda Kisa Zehra, Gold Medalist from Karachi, Pakistan, Sets New Record!


On December 19, 2020, Syeda Kisa Zehra from Pakistan set a new world record for the Most Historic/Future (Fictional) Dates Memorized in 5 Minutes by successfully recalling 241 fictional dates at the 29th World Memory Championship. This record, previously held by India, was achieved during the competition held from December 18 to 20, 2020, in a hybrid format in China and worldwide.


In this contest, competitors had 5 minutes to memorize as many numerical historical or future (fictional) dates as possible and 20 minutes to recall and link each date to the correct fictional event.

Born in 2001, Syeda Kisa Zehra began competing in memory contests in early 2019. She has participated in various national and international memory, speed reading, and mind-mapping championships. She is the 2019 UK Speed Reading Champion and the 2019 Pakistan National Mind Mapping Champion.

Kisa’s teammate, Emma Alam, also broke the world record for Most Historic/Future (Fictional) Dates Memorized in 5 Minutes, however, Kisa scored higher than Emma, hence, securing the Guinness World Records title.


The 29th World Memory Championships 2020 saw over 300 competitors from 16 countries and regions, including Pakistan, India, China, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Algeria, the United States, Hong Kong (China), Macau (China), Taiwan (China), Libya, Qatar, and Iraq. The competition featured 10 disciplines over three days.


Founded in 1991 by Tony Buzan and Raymond Keene, the World Memory Championships is a prestigious mind sports tournament that highlights the incredible power of human memory.

 Syeda Kisa Zehra expressed her excitement, saying, “It’s a privilege to be declared the best in the world in the amazing feat of memory, which goes to show how amazing the memory bank is.”


Syeda Kisa Zehra was trained under the leadership of coach Sania Alam who is a Super-Learning Master Trainer, 1 of the only 4 in the World Senior Licensed Instructors and the CEO of Futuristic Learning.

In addition to winning the overall championship title, Team Pakistan secured 3 trophies, 15 medals, and broke 4 world records.
